Add your Competitors

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Competitors give your numbers context. A 30% visibility means something different when the market leader has 25% or 70%.

How Competitors Get Added

Rankscale finds brands in AI answers through auto discovery and lists them on the Competitors tab of your Brand. You decide which ones to keep.

  • Add brands you want to track for sure to the Allowlist Brand Names.

  • Add brands that are not real competitors, such as marketplaces or review sites, to the Denylist Brand Names.

  • If a listed name is really one of your own names, use Reclassify and choose Treat as your own brand.

The full steps are in 📄 Managing your Competitor Tab.

A Good First List

  • Three to five direct competitors that your customers also consider.

  • One or two brands that often appear in AI answers for your category, even if you do not see them as rivals.

  • Review the list again after your first week, when auto discovery has seen more answers.

Tip: Revisit your competitors when you launch a new product or enter a new market.
