Setting up a Brand with the Brand Setup Wizard
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The Brand Setup Wizard creates a brand from your website and suggests your first search terms, so you can start tracking in a few minutes.
Who Can Use the Wizard
The workspace owner and members with write access to the workspace can create brands. If you do not see Brand Setup Wizard in the sidebar, ask your workspace owner for access.
Open the Wizard
If your workspace has no brands yet, the wizard opens on its own when you sign in.
At any other time, click Brand Setup Wizard in the sidebar, below Prompt Research.
Step 1: Add your Brand Details
Enter your website in the Domain field, for example yourdomain.com, and click Continue.
Wait while Rankscale checks your website. The remaining fields then appear, filled in where Rankscale found reliable details. If it found none, the fields are empty and you fill them in yourself.
Review each field and correct anything that is wrong:
Brand name: the name your customers know you by.
What do you sell?: your main products or services.
Category / industry: the market you compete in.
Service area (optional): the city or metro area you serve, if you are a local business. Do not enter a street address. If Rankscale finds a likely city on your website, it appears under Suggested. Click it to add it.
Language and Region: the language and country your search terms are checked in.
Click Generate my search terms.
Rankscale finds search terms for your brand and opens Step 2.
Tip: Fields marked AI suggested - review were filled in by AI rather than taken from your website. Check them before you continue. To look up your website again, click Search at the end of the Domain field. This clears the details below it.
Step 2: Review your Search Terms
Rankscale suggests a short list of search terms: questions people ask AI about your category, without your brand name in them. Each one is labelled Awareness, Consideration or Transactional, depending on how close the person asking is to buying.
Edit a term: click into it and change the text.
Leave a term out: clear its checkbox. Only checked terms are saved.
Replace a term: click the Regenerate search term icon next to it to get a new suggestion.
Add a term: pick a stage in the dropdown below the list, then click Suggest another for a new suggestion, or Add manually to type your own.
The counter below the list shows how many terms you have selected and how many the wizard allows. You can add more search terms later in Search Terms. The wizard also shows roughly how much of your credits the selected terms will use, and which AI engines the first checks run on.
When the list looks right, click Set up brand monitoring. To change your brand details first, click Back. Your search terms are kept.
After Setup
Rankscale creates the brand, saves your search terms grouped into topics by stage, and starts the first checks in the background. Results appear as each check finishes.
Click Open Search Terms to follow the first checks, or Brand overview to go to the brand.
Your search terms run daily on the engines shown in the wizard, which uses credits. You can change the interval and the engines in Search Terms at any time.
To change your brand details later, go to Configuration > Brand Settings.
Skipping the Wizard
Skip Discards your Setup
Clicking Skip in the top right closes the wizard without creating a brand. Everything you entered, including your reviewed search terms, is discarded, and the wizard starts again at Step 1 the next time you open it.
To create a brand by entering its details yourself and add search terms afterwards, see 📄 How to Create a New Brand.
